In pursuance of Clause (3) of Article 340 of the Constitution of India, IN, Exercise of Powers under the Section 18 of the Haj Committee Act, 1959 The Governor of Uttaranchal State (Now Known As Uttarakhand State) formulate the rules for the constitution of State Haj Committee. Thus Uttaranchal State Haj Committee (Now Known As Uttarakhand State Haj Committee) was formed by the Circular No. 529/Social Welfare /2002, Dated June 10, 2002.

HISTORY OF UTTARAKHAND HAJ HOUSE

Foundation Stone of Haj House Laid By Shri Narayan Dutt Tiwari,Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttaranchal (Now Known As Uttarakhand) on 11 August,2003 at Piran-E-Kaliyar, Tehsil Roorkee District Haridwar. The Grand Building of Haj House was Inaugurated by Dr Aziz Qureshi, Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand. The Inauguration Programme of Haj House was Presided by Shri Vijay Bahuguna, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and in the grand presence of the Guest of Honour Shri Harish Rawat, Member of Parliament from Haridwar Constituency and Hon’ble Minister of Water & Resources Govt of India, Shri Furkan Ahmad Hon’ble MLA Piran-E-Kaliyar and Parliamentary Secretary Govt of Uttarakhand and Shri Haji Rao Sher Muhammad, Hon’ble Chairman Uttarakhand State Haj Committee on 31 August, 2013. Thus the Head Office of Uttarakhand State Haj Committee was Shifted from Dehradun to Haj House Piran-E-Kaliyar, Tehsil Roorkee District Haridwar on 28 June, 2014. Now all the Process and formalities related to Haj Pilgrimage to Saudia Arabia are conducted and arranged from Haj House Piran-E-Kaliyar, Roorkee District Haridwar.
